Neurocysticercosis (NC) in the central nervous system (CNS) caused by Taenia solium (TS) larvae is the most common worldwide parasitic infection. TS is an important medical issue in Taiwan aborigines. However, NC is reported sporadically and its prevalence is unclear in the general population in Taiwan. We reported a case of NC diagnosis on the basis of surgical resection. Neurocysticercosis (NC) in the central nervous system (CNS) caused by Taenia solium (TS) larvae is the most common worldwide parasitic infection. [1-5]. It affects millions of people worldwide with a prevalence of 3% to 6% in developing countries, where it is the leading cause of late-onset seizures in the endemic areas [1-3]. TS infection was a well-documented important medical problem in Taiwan aborigines in the last century [6]. Aborigines enjoyed eating raw meat and organs for centuries and the reported raw eating rate was 73% in 1502 infected Taiwan aborigines [6]. However, the prevalence of NC in general population is unclear and reported sporadically in Taiwan. Thus we reported a case of NC diagnosis on the basis of surgical resection.
